Lolly was malnourished and extremely thin. A physical exam by a veterinarian and diagnostic tests revealed that she was infected with Giardia, an intestinal parasite that can be especially serious in young or debilitated patients like Lolly. The precious pup was started on oral medications and is being nurtured by the staff at OMHS. Once she has regained her strength, she had dental surgery. Her permanent canine teeth were not growing in properly, with the potential to cause pain in adult life so had to be corrected.
